EL CAGA TIÓ

I love Christmas. Here we celebrate Christmas eve on the 24th. That evening we do el Caga tio. This is a Catalan tradition. It’a magic log that brings presents for everyone. The week before Christmas kids feed it so that it brings lots of presents on Christmas eve. That evening all the family meet. We cover it with a blanket and make a circle around it. We hit the Caga Tio with a stick while singing a song. And the Tio brings us presents.

ELS CASTELLERS

Castellers are very popular in our tradition. They are human towers. They are very high. Look at the video. Isn’t it amazing?

GAUDI

Gaudi is one of the most famous artists in our culture. He was an architected and he designed striking monuments like Sagrada Familia. My favourite Gaudi’s work is Park Guell in Barcelona.

OUR FOOD

Our food is delicious. We have many typical dishes. My favourite is Paella.

Paella is a rice dish with sea food and meat. Yummy! I love it.

We also eat lots of vegetables. I like our salads and our escalivada.Escalivada is red pepper, aubergine and onion. I like eating escalivada on toast with some melted cheese

My favourite place

My favourite place is the beach. We have lovely beaches in Catalonia.

I love going to the beach in summer.

One of my favourite beaches is Platja d’Aro.

The sand in that beach is white and the water is turquoise. I love going to the beach!
